Can your fingerprint be stolen from a selfie?

Japanese scientists are warning people against making the peace sign in photos. They say it's possible to get the fingerprint if you take a picture from up to 3 metres away. And they say peace sign waving or a thumbs up.

Ad

Well, I'm getting confused here. How could a thumbs up be a peace sign? As far as I know "Thumbs up" is for something that you like, of course we like peace but when we take a selfie and if we make a thumbs up sign then people will think that we are saying the picture is nice or something and won't think about peace. And another thing is if people can take picture of fingerprint then what about the thumbprint? People usually use there thumbs as their fingerprints.

Waving? Who makes a peace sign by waving? Doesn't it (waving) mean "Hello" or "Help! Help! I'm here"?

Even if you listen to them still you need a good camera, perfect lighting, properly focused and many other factors. Anyway let me know what you think about it in the comment. Can't believe this video got 421,595+ views  in two days.

3 Ways to watch YouTube's age restricted videos without sign in

Have you ever come across this problem where you just logged out from YouTube and then you saw something and you tried to watch it but it says you can't watch it without sign in? Or maybe you want to watch a video but you have not created a YouTube account yet so that you can sign in and watch.
Ad

Well, don't worry in this post you will find out how you can easily watch that video without signing in.

1st one:
Go to the URL and replace watch?v= with v/  then hit the enter key. For example from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWBoXdGu4QE to https://www.youtube.com/v/jWBoXdGu4QE

2nd one:
It is like the first one but instead of replacing with v/ replace with embed/. For example from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWBoXdGu4QE to https://www.youtube.com/embed/jWBoXdGu4QE

3rd one:
This one a bit complicated, go to the video and the get the embed code and then make a text file on your desktop open the ext file past the embed code and then save the file as (.html). You might got confused by the last one but don't worry just watch the video below, first tip is about this one.

How to spot fake youtube account from real?

I thought this is very simple and easy, that why I didn't bother writing about it. But is seems like many people don't know about it, and irony is that even big YouTuber like MO Vlogs was concerned about this and telling his fans about it.

Well, it is very simple. If you are a fan of a YouTuber who is verified then it's very easy to find out. You will see a tick on the side. And if he comments under his own video, you will see his name highlighted in blue as you can see in the above picture.

But if you subscribe to a channel which is no yet verified, you will still see his name highlighted if he comments under any of his own video. I don't know why Mo Vlogs got frighten about this.

Watch from 2:44

How do you know if it's real account if it's not verified?
Well, this one is a bit tricky, there are two ways to find out.

1. If the unverified channel has got custom name which you know for sure then just hover on the picture or name and you will see the URL at the bottom left hand corner (if you are using Firefox) with the custom name. For example: https://www.youtube.com/user/mozartips

2. If the channel doesn't have a custom name then you have to remember the ID of that channel (I highly doubt anyone will remember that) and by hovering on the picture or name you will see the URL at the bottom which will contain the id like Mo Vologs own channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_hoQDD6zKcIqpIYLsFbBeA/). His account is verified but he doesn't have custom URL.

* {He was probably telling "Yo Momma" jokes THE WHOLE TIME.}

* {Poor tiger he only wanted to play tag your dinner.}

Tilt switch arduino (with sound)

About a week ago a video gone viral in which two toddler were trapped (almost died) under a dresser  and mum said she was sleeping in another room and didn't hear the sound of falling dresser.
Ad

Well, there were so many people saying that the parents (specially the mum) of the toddlers are careless, and some said it's not possible to look after kids 24/7. OK it's true that it is hard to look after them 24/7 but at least the mum should have setup walkie talkies to the kids room, but it seems like she didn't wanted to get destructed by the sound.

So here is and idea which big companies can make the dressers smarter for careless people. I know they can make even smaller but this is just an idea and anyone can make it with arduino.

What you need?
1x Catalex mp3 player for arduino with a micro sd card.
1x  Any arduino board.
1x Tilt switch.
1x 10k ohm resistor.
Few jumper wires and the sketch below.
Ad

#include <SoftwareSerial.h>
#define ARDUINO_RX 5 //should connect to TX of the Serial MP3 Player module
#define ARDUINO_TX 6 //connect to RX of the module
SoftwareSerial mySerial(ARDUINO_RX, ARDUINO_TX);
static int8_t Send_buf[8] = {0} ;

#define CMD_SEL_DEV 0X09
#define DEV_TF 0X02
#define CMD_PLAY_W_VOL 0X22

const int buttonPin1 = 8;
int buttonState1 = 0;

void setup() {
      mySerial.begin(9600);
        Serial.begin(9600);
      delay(500);//Wait chip initialization is complete
        sendCommand(CMD_SEL_DEV, DEV_TF);//select the TF card
      delay(200);//wait for 200ms
}

void loop() {
 buttonState1 = digitalRead(buttonPin1);

   if (buttonState1 == HIGH) {
sendCommand(CMD_PLAY_W_VOL, 0X0F01);//This is file you want to play.
      delay(1000);//waiting time for the file above.
  } else {
  sendCommand(CMD_PLAY_W_VOL, 0X16);
  }
}

void sendCommand(int8_t command, int16_t dat)
{
  delay(20);
  Send_buf[0] = 0x7e;
  Send_buf[1] = 0xff;
  Send_buf[2] = 0x06;
  Send_buf[3] = command;
  Send_buf[4] = 0x00;//0x00 = no feedback, 0x01 = feedback
  Send_buf[5] = (int8_t)(dat >> 8);//datah
  Send_buf[6] = (int8_t)(dat); //datal
  Send_buf[7] = 0xef; //ending byte
  for(uint8_t i=0; i<8; i++)//
  {
    mySerial.write(Send_buf[i]) ;
  }

How to block your cameras so that no hacker gets access to it

As you probably already know that nowadays hacker can get access to your smart phones very easily just by sending a message and installing a spy app or software. That's why it's very important that you know for sure that no one can get access to your camera when you are in privet place and doing privet things. Otherwise the hackers might see everything you are doing.
Ad

How can you block it?
You just need to download an app called "Camera Block -Anti spy-malware" and install it. You can find it on Play Store just by typing the name. It has good rating and 100,000+ downloads that shows quite lot of people using it.

Benefits:
When you block the camera with this app it can block both cameras and for all the apps, that means you can just block the cameras with one tap and it can't be open with any other apps like WhatsApp, Viber, messenger or any other app until you unblock it again.

You can see it in the video below, although it is in different language but you can see how he tries to open with other apps and can't open the cameras.

Note:
This is just a tip, if you want to use the app or not that's completely up to you.

Two year old saves twin brother {Viral}

This video is #1 trending on YouTube today where 2 two year old (what a coincidence) twin were playing and then they thought why not pull the drawers of the dresser and try to conquer the Mount Everest. Unfortunately when they did that the dresser fell down and one of the toddler got stuck under it. And the other tolder (at 1:29 viedo time) thought very carefully and tried to pull the dresser, when he saw it's not working like that he pushed it and freed his brother.

Ad

Reason of sharing the video:
"I've been a little hesitant to post this. But I feel it's not only to bring awareness, but it is also incredible. We are so grateful for the bond that these twin brothers share. We know Bowdy was not alone in moving the dresser off of Brock. And feel blessed that he is ok. Please make sure all your dressers are bolted and secured to the wall. Please share." -Ricky Shoff on Facebook

Many people are saying many things about the toddlers and their parents. Les't read some of the best comments.

1. [Parents these days, not present but camera in the childrens room.. sad] YT

2. [That dumb kid wasnt doing jack shit for 2 fucking minutes. Brainless kids. Brainless parents as well.] YT
Come on, he is just a kid. Watch him how he thought and found out the way to save his brother. It's just incredible. He thought like a genius with his tiny underdevelope brain.

3. [Parents fault. dressers as big as this need to be attached to the wall with screws.] YT
Well, they have learned it now and that's what they said on their FB page.

4. [Watching this was really really hard. My Ikea dresser will tip if you open two drawers at once. Very dangerous for adult feet let alone babies.] FB

5. [To all the comments about bad parenting. Do you have children? And if yes do you supervise them 24x7 around the house? Because if you do, you may save them from an accident but you also have a lot of time in your hands (which many people don't) but also you are creating some really dependent children. But once again, I doubt anyone supervises their children 24x7 in a safe environment.

To the parents. You are lucky, and thanks for the heads up. By the way, I suspect a loaded dresser could tip even if bolted, unless its bolted really well.] FB

Stock counting with ultrasonic sensors

This is very a very simple way you can count many things. But in this example you can see that it updates the stocks every 2 seconds and which ever unit gets less stock or gets empty it will uptade it within 2 seconds.
Ad

How does it work?
Well, it measure the distance between items and itself and by doing this it can find out if there is something there or not and finds out how many items are there.

Automatic stock counting with ultrasonic sensors
int trigPin1 = 5;
int echoPin1 = 6;

int trigPin2 = 7;
int echoPin2 = 8;

void setup() {
  Serial.begin (9600);
  pinMode(trigPin1, OUTPUT);
  pinMode(echoPin1, INPUT);
  pinMode(trigPin2, OUTPUT);
  pinMode(echoPin2, INPUT);
}

void sensor1(){ // This function is for first sensor.
  int duration1, distance1;
  digitalWrite (trigPin1, HIGH);
  delayMicroseconds (10);
  digitalWrite (trigPin1, LOW);
  duration1 = pulseIn (echoPin1, HIGH);
  distance1 = (duration1/2) / 29.1;

if (distance1 <=14){
Serial.println("3 Leogs left in unit 1");
    }
else if (distance1 <=17) {
Serial.println("2 Legos left in unit 1");
  }

else if (distance1 <=21) {
Serial.println("1 Lego left in unit 1");
  }

else if (distance1 <=24) {
Serial.println("Nothing left in unit 1");
  }
else  {
//ggg
  }
}
//
void sensor2(){ // This function is for first sensor.
  int duration2, distance2;
  digitalWrite (trigPin2, HIGH);
  delayMicroseconds (10);
  digitalWrite (trigPin2, LOW);
  duration2 = pulseIn (echoPin2, HIGH);
  distance2 = (duration2/2) / 29.1;

if (distance2 <=13){
Serial.println("3 Leogs left in unit 2");
    }
else if (distance2 <=16) {
Serial.println("2 Legos left in unit 2");
  }

else if (distance2 <=19) {
Serial.println("1 Lego left in unit 2");
  }

else if (distance2 <=23) {
Serial.println("Nothing left in unit 2");
  }
else  {
//ggg
  }
}

void loop() {
Serial.println("\n");
sensor1();
sensor2();
delay(2000);
}

Note:
You might need to measure the distance manually and put it in the sketch so that it can work with your stock shelve. This is just an idea, you'll have to try it out so that cand work accoding to your need.
Ad

* You can change the delay time to what ever time you want or you can even make it on command like the sketch below.

On command stock counting with ultrasonic sensors
int trigPin1 = 5;
int echoPin1 = 6;

int trigPin2 = 7;
int echoPin2 = 8;

void setup() {
  Serial.begin (9600);
  pinMode(trigPin1, OUTPUT);
  pinMode(echoPin1, INPUT);
  pinMode(trigPin2, OUTPUT);
  pinMode(echoPin2, INPUT);
}
String str;

void u1(){ // This function is for first sensor.
  int duration1, distance1;
  digitalWrite (trigPin1, HIGH);
  delayMicroseconds (10);
  digitalWrite (trigPin1, LOW);
  duration1 = pulseIn (echoPin1, HIGH);
  distance1 = (duration1/2) / 29.1;

if (distance1 <=14){
Serial.println("3 Leogs left in unit 1");
    }
else if (distance1 <=17) {
Serial.println("2 Legos left in unit 1");
  }

else if (distance1 <=21) {
Serial.println("1 Lego left in unit 1");
  }

else if (distance1 <=24) {
Serial.println("Nothing left in unit 1");
  }
else  {
//ggg
  }
}
//
void u2(){ // This function is for first sensor.
  int duration2, distance2;
  digitalWrite (trigPin2, HIGH);
  delayMicroseconds (10);
  digitalWrite (trigPin2, LOW);
  duration2 = pulseIn (echoPin2, HIGH);
  distance2 = (duration2/2) / 29.1;

if (distance2 <=13){
Serial.println("3 Leogs left in unit 2");
    }
else if (distance2 <=16) {
Serial.println("2 Legos left in unit 2");
  }

else if (distance2 <=19) {
Serial.println("1 Lego left in unit 2");
  }

else if (distance2 <=23) {
Serial.println("Nothing left in unit 2");
  }
else  {
//ggg
  }
}

void loop() {
if(Serial.available())
{
str = Serial.readStringUntil('\n');

if(str == "u1"){
u1();
  }

  if(str == "u2"){
u2();
  }
}
}

For this sketch you just need to send u1 command to the get result from the unit one and u2 to get the result of unit two.

That's all for this post I hope it helps you and you can see the sketch in action below.
